Online Marketers in Chester County set meeting time

As you may know, this blog is run by several online marketers in the Chester County, PA area.  The group is called Chester County Interactive Marketers Meetup.  You can also find more information about our group by following #ChesCoIM on Twitter.

After a venue search, we have scheduled our February 2012 meeting.  We will meet on Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30-10pm at Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House (117 E Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380), in their upstairs room.  Many thanks to our friends at Doc Magrogan’s for their assistance in securing the space for our ever-expanding group!

We’ll meet in the bar area 6:30-7:30pm to grab drinks and network, we’ll then move to the private room where we’ll have a sit down discussion and members can order food from the menu for dinner.

Find support for your business at TheRightVA.com – Online Biz Insiders podcast – ep.50

Yay, us!  Our 50th episode!   Woo Hoo!

In this week’s episode we talk with guest Nickey Hollenbach, owner of TheRightVA.com.  As you may recall from our Delegation Episode 49, we mentioned TheRightVA.com as one of the places where you could find Virtual Assistants to whom you could delegate tasks and in turn be more productive in your business.   So of course we thought bringing Nickey on as a guest would be interesting to our listeners!

The Right VA is a website for both VAs (who would like to be listed in a directory) and for small business owners (who are looking for outsourced support for their business).   The website provides a “business owner / VA matching service”

For Business Owners, TheRightVA.com offers 2 levels of support:

Level 1: You register on the website and submit your request to find VAs.  After a database search, you receive contact information for which you can use to interview the prospective VAs.   The fee for this service is ONLY $39.95!  And, you have access to the site for 30 days.

Level 2: You register on the website.  The team at TheRightVA.com calls you to find out your support needs, then uses the database to locate potential VAs and calls them to research if they are the right fit for you.  This is completed within 24-48 hours. Easy-peasy and affordable at ONLY $129.95!  Check it out!

It is important to note that the Virtual Assistants listed in the directory at TheRightVA.com are vetted by the team.  VAs must meet the requirement of being in business for at least 3 years, and references are called and researched before approval is made.

Virtual Assistants who are interested in being listed on the site can be listed in 1 category for free, or $4 per month for each additional category.  (A fantastic marketing deal for VAs, too!)

And of course we asked Nickey about her favorite online resource.  Her answer? RingCentral – check it out!  RingCentral is a resource that gives you an 800-number with customizable extensions – as well as electronic fax.  Fantastic!

Using Monitoring Tools in Your Social Media Strategy

Online Biz Insiders (OBI) podcast – Rapportive review

In today’s episode we discuss Rapportive.  Or shall I say Mary talks about Rapportive and I listen and learn? What is Rapportive?  It’s a free plug-in (for Firefox, Chrome, Mailplane and Safari) that allows you “to see everything about your contacts right within Gmail.”  After recording this episode, I downloaded Rapportive and set up my [...]

Semantics. Advertisers, They’re Not Just for English Majors Anymore

Last week, I talked about ad puke—a thoughtless way of advertising that just wants to get in your face. This week, I’d like to introduce you to a more thoughtful approach—semantic advertising. Digital advertising is not easy. You usually don’t … Continue reading

Online Biz Insiders (OBI) podcast – Accepting Online Payments

In this episode of Online Biz Insiders, we (or should I say Mary) answer a question from a listener, Michelle, who wants to know her options when it comes to accepting payments online.  Mary reviews the two requirements: Credit Card processing (as a banking function), and the ability to accept credit cards.  Mary reviews options [...]

Online Biz Insiders – ep. 32 – Online File Sharing

In your online business have you ever had a situation where you wanted to send a large file to someone, but knew that the file was too large to send it as an email attachment? We hear you! In my work with digital audio and video files (REALLY large files), it’s not practical to even consider emailing the files as a method of sharing completed projects with clients.  So, what to do?  As usual, we have a recommendation for you!  Rely on an online resource that allows the users to share files online.   In this 18 minute episode of Online Biz Insiders podcast Mary and I discuss the options when considering online file sharing for your online business – or even for personal use.

We love to use Dropbox for online file sharing, but there are also other options like Box and YouSendIt.  All three products offer either a free trial (YouSendIt) or free/personal type accounts (Dropbox and Box).  What these resources provide is an online location to upload files – or to send a file download link via email.  You create an account, create a folder, upload the files to be shared, then invite another person to share the folder with you.  Brilliant!

Do you use one of these resources to share files – or maybe something different?  Please let us know by commenting below!  We’d love to hear from you!

Ad Puke vs Banner Blindness: Are There Any Winners?

In a recent article, Brian Solis talked about “banner blindness”—how most people don’t even see web banner ads anymore. It’s true, so advertisers are forced to become more creative…or more obnoxious in some cases. The worst ones spew ads at … Continue reading
